StripitXT™ XTension prepares your QuarkXPress documents for archiving in minutes. No more extracting page by page! Fast and efficient, StripitXT saves text and pictures into folders, which are easily accessed by searchable databases. Not only does the XTension work with Latin text, it is the only XTension to extract Arabic language text for archiving.

StripitXT presents a total solution for the newspaper and magazine industries, in particular. Unlike any other XTension, StripitXT links headers with text during extracting to maintain proper sequencing of information. Further, during extracting, StripitXT saves the date of publication, issue number, and page number inside text files. Databases automatically load this information when a search is performed.

How does it work?

StripitXT adds a new sub-menu to the QuarkXPress Utilities menu, which allows you to choose default or unique preference settings, to request a Stripit folder, and to extract:

A PICT preview of an entire page

A PICT preview of every picture box on the page

A text file containing the full path and name of every picture on the page

A text file containing the text of all text boxes on the page

You have a range of pre-archiving options, because StripitXT's extensive preferences have been well studied. You determine which items and how much of your document to extract. And you have a variety of choices for the final archive of your document: the scale of the PICT preview, exceptions, and article separators, among others. Default and saving options have never made extracting easier or more effective.

Some of the StripitXT preferences allows you to specify controls such as, whether to archive a whole document, or specified pages, to export only text boxes or picture boxes or both. StripitXT preferences allow you to specify whether to archive Master Page Elements such as headers and footers, or to skip text boxes that are smaller than a user defined size, allowing you to skip boxes that contain text such as page numbers or small captions.
