ArabicXT is an XTension that turns QuarkXPress into an Arabic professional DTP software.
All the features of QuarkXPress 3.32, 4.x, or 5.x are available now for the Arabic language.

ArabicXT is available for Mac, PowerMac, and PC Windows platforms. It runs on your
operating system and does not require the Arabized operating system.

ArabicXT takes care of all the Arabic language requirements and adds several features
to QuarkXPress itself as to adapt it to the requirements of the Right to Left Arabic language.

Automatic Kashida insertion using a predefined Kashida rule.

Automatic leveling for the position of accents over characters vertically and horizontally.

QuarkXPress Passport

ArabicXT supports QuarkXPress Passport the multi-lingual version of QuarkXPress.
QuarkXPress Passport supports several Latin languages and allows the user to Justify,
Hyphenate, and spell check text in 10 different languages: International English, U.S.
English, French, German, Dutch, Swedish, Italian, Spanish, Swiss, Danish. ArabicXT
allows the users to use the Arabic language with Passport in order to create Multi-lingual bidirectional publications in virtually any language.

Furthermore, ArabicXT comes bundled with 30 Arabic fonts. Also, a library of
150 Arabic fonts is now available on CD-ROMs from Layout Ltd.

4.1 R3 Release Notes

Dear ArabicXT user

Following are the changes in ArabicXT Version 4.1 R3:

1) If user has 2 different dongles for Kalimat and ArabicXT, and user just updated Kalimat into version 3.0, in some cases ArabicXT might have a problem running. This updater will fix that problem.

2) Added a short cut for Get Windows Arabic Text menu entry. The new short cut is Ctrl+E.

3) There was a problem when importing into ArabicXT a Windows text file that contains quotes with mixed latin. This has been fixed.

4) If user typed Shift Back Space, the delete will become forward instead of backwards. Opposite to the normal Back Space.

5) The latin text mixing mode has become Enhanced by Default.

6) Opening an ArabicXT Document under QuarkXPress version 4.1 and above MAC, The Taah Final and Hamza over Koursi appear wrong. This has been fixed.
